Long - Hole 4

Gents

Par 4 Si 1 Ladies Par 4 Si 7

The wind usually comes at you from the front and left making this long par 4 particularly tough. From the tee a good drive down the centre avoiding two bunkers on the right will put you in the ideal position on the fairway.

From here the 2 fairway bunkers just short of the green are your main obstacle and you should either look to carry them and attack the hole or more sensibly on this low index hole play up short and leave yourself with a typical links bump and run shot onto this flat green.

Professional's tip

Long hitters looking for a shorter approach on this slight left to right dogleg can attempt to carry the 2 bunkers on the right side of the fairway. Cut too much off however and the rough down the right hand side will ensure your next shot will be very difficult.
